Talk to us about library trends, future tech and what we learned from our global academic and public librarians’ survey
We are delighted to have been invited to attend the 2025 OxCam Conference as a trusted technology provider.
Following academic library sector trends, key themes of this year’s conference are around agility, innovation and student experience. At D-Tech we have made sure we are equipped with the latest thinking and feedback from library professionals on what’s most important to them and the communities they serve.
Insights From Our Library Professionals Survey
This year, we published the results of our insights survey from our customers across the UK and US, where we aimed to discover the hot topics, concerns and aspirations for the coming year.
There was a clear and significant shift towards accessibility and inclusivity and using technology to enable reduced waiting times, streamlined processes and more time for librarians to focus what’s important: efficiency and patron interaction.

A SMART First for Oriel College
Last summer we entered the next phase of our long-term partnership with Oriel College, which was the first Oxbridge library to pioneer RFID. In July 2024 we installed the University of Oxford’s first SMART Charge lockers for secure laptop storage and charging. Our SMART range is designed to revolutionise the way students and staff interact with storage spaces, offering a secure, contactless, and convenient experience.
In summer 2024 D-Tech was ranked by the Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges (UPUC) as the UK’s number-one provider of self-service laptop charging lockers.
