Besides artists, chefs and fitness instructors, the Epic has also debut the D-Techs LendIT™ to serve up books, audiobooks, and DVDS. The driving force behind Epic Reads, LendIT™ a 24/7 automated kiosk from the Grand Prairie Library. Guests can use a full-color screen to select their books, DVDs or playaway (a discless, self-contained audiobook), the patron uses their library card to check items out. Sealed inside the kiosk, the robot will navigate the shelves to find the desired item, retrieve it, and deliver it to the pickup window. UP TO 1,000 items will be available for immediate checkout with a Grand Prairie library card. Epic Reads will be available 24/7. A Grand Prairie library card is required to use the Epic Reads LendIT ™ Cards are free, and available at any Grand Prairie library or from the webpage. Epic Reads was created by D-Tech, the company behind the Library’s Lake Parks HoldIT™ The HoldIT™, located at the corner of Lynn Creek and Lake Ridge Parkway, is a valuable library connection for residents on the peninsula. Items placed on hold by phone or through the Library’s website are delivered by courier on a regular schedule. Once delivered, items may be picked up around the clock.
