D-Tech International Ltd are delighted to announce a new partnership with Leicester City Council following their successful tender submission. Leicester City Council have awarded D-Tech the contract to design, supply & maintain RFID self-service, staff station functionality and inventory technology to six of their libraries in June 2013.
The first self-service kiosks will be installed over the coming months at Aylestone Library, when it reopens in its new location at Aylestone Leisure Centre later this summer, and St Matthews Library when it relocates to St Matthews Leisure Centre.
Southfields Library, Leicester Central Library, Fosse Library and Braunstone Library at the Brite Centre will also be fitted with the machines, which will operate alongside regular library staff.
Leicester Assistant City Mayor for neighbourhood services, Cllr Sarah Russell, said: “With changes being made to our library services, we’re using this chance to install this self-service technology.
“Staff will still be on hand to help customers, but the addition of these self-service points makes it easier for people to carry out simple transactions by themselves without having to queue.
“It also allows staff to spend more time on helping customers who need advice on library services or help with more complex enquiries. I’m sure the self-service points will be a well-used and helpful feature of our libraries.”
